So I stood on Taygetos

Nikiforos Vrettakos

So I was on Taygetos,
as the peak of my mother.
Watered with blue blood
sun and green
as an anchor to my soul like a stone,
as to draw in my heart
the deep ravines
to form straight in my midnight peaks
hang my answers only dream of the sun.
In my thirst only the sun,
thirst deep as the ocean,
high as the moon,
thirst to feel sorry God.
...So I was on Taygetos as being born
two children of God:
poetry and love.

The Municipality of Faris, the Association of Youth Sports and Culture and the 5th Prehistoric and Classical Archaeology Department held an event on December 2, 2009 TALETON Xirokambi, The lecture was given by Adamantia Vasilogamvrou, archaeologist, director of the 5th Prehistoric and Classical Archaeology Department on "Excavation City of St. Basili, Faridos: The lecture was about the first results of the excavation research of the Mycenaean palatial center of Laconia."
